Great Bentley Update

Extract from Gt Bentley website:

Weather considerations - race currently proceeding as planned

Unless course conditions are unsafe due to ice or snow or if it is considered unsafe for people to travel to the event, the race will go ahead as planned.

The current forecast is for heavy snow on Saturday night into Sunday morning. However, this has been a moving feast throughout the week and, as the inclement weather is only forecast for hours rather than days, the decision to postpone the race will be taken late in the day.

The course will be checked on Saturday and an update provided here (i.e the Half Marathon page on the gbrc.org.uk website). Unfortunately, this will not allow consideration of an overnight snow event but hopefully the forecast will be firmed up and more accurate by that point.

There is provision to delay the start of the race by up to 30 minutes on the day should that make the difference.

If the race cannot proceed on the chosen day, a new date will be selected and advised on this page as soon as is possible.

Existing race entries will obviously be valid for the new date and unfortunately refunds will not be made.

Our 11:00 destination for cycling this Saturday is the Rayne Booking Hall Cafe where it has just been confirmed they are expecting us.
