The race starts at 11am near the race headquarters at Witham Football Club, Spa Road CM8 1UN.

How To Get There:
From Chelmsford along the A12 past Hatfield Peverel, follow the signs for Witham. About 1 mile after leaving the A12 turn left at the traffic lights, along Spinks Lane and watch out for the marshals.
From Colchester along the A12, follow the signs to Witham. Straight on at the first set of lights at the junction of The Avenue on the right and the Grove on the left, straight on at the second and third lights, very close together in the middle of town (Woolworths on the left, Boots on the right), straight on again at the mini roundabout and the fourth set of lights at the entrance to Bramston Sports Centre, at the next lights turn right into Spinks Lane and watch out for the marshals as above.
From Braintree follow the main road to the traffic lights then turn right and follow the directions as from Colchester.

Route:

The accurately measured 5 mile course is unchanged from last year:
From the start at the junction of Cuppers Close and Spa Road (Highfield Road), along Spa Road to the roundabout, left into Powers Hall End then follow the road right past the Queen Victoria pub. Turn right at the end into Flora Road, back to the roundabout then turn right and up to the Vic again. This time you bear left and follow Terling Road to the crossroads where you turn left into Dancing Dick's Lane. You follow the road past Dancing Dicks into Blunts Hall Road. From here the last one and a half miles are almost all downhill. Carry on down Blunts Hall Road, under the railway bridge, past the end of Spinks Lane, back under the railway then turn left into the private road and a short uphill stretch to the finish.
