Am a Level Two UK Athletics Coach and an Ipswich Town season ticket holder. Learnt to swim in 2005 and did the London Tri last year with great encouragement and support from members of the Club. Watch 'Corrie' and enjoy the Cinema

Member of Witham Running Club for “many years” now and still running! Over that time supporting the club on and off the pitch and regularly participating in cross country and race distance from 5Ks up to marathons. Recent new challenges have included triathlon events up to Olympic or standard distance.

This is my 16th year of club running and I still haven't got the hang of cross-country!! Started running with Tiptree Road Runners in 1993 and was secretary there for 4 years, also under Martyn's chairmanship?? After a short spell at Chelmsford AC, I joined Witham on a free transfer in 2005.

After years of doing aerobics and going to the gym I started running about 4 years ago when I got talked into doing a 3.5 mile race for work and the rest as they say is history. I joined the club to be able to beat my husband in races, but now he's also joined he beats me! For my sins I'm a Spurs fan and have been for 21 years and am addicted to Prison Break.

Took up serious exercise in 1990 after seeing a photo of me on the beach. Started with swimming, then some cycling and running, step aerobics, circuit training, more running, yet more cycling. I've done some sprint triathlon since 2002. Qualified as a UKA Level 2 Endurance coach in 2007. As an engineer by profession I am particularly interested in the science of training.

Junior Coach: Dave Smith Click here to contact Dave

I have been running for 36 years, have run for my County and the Army, now passing some of my experience to the Juniors, and still running well. Got my GB vest in Biathlon.

I began running in 2004 after I stopped playing football and joined Witham Running Club in 2005 to run more regularly. I started to cycle once a week with a few other club members and then thought I would do a bit of swimming and before I new it I was entering local triathlons. I also enjoy playing and watching most sports and going to the cinema.

I started running in 2002 (after hating it at school) with some crazy idea about doing the London Marathon. 4 years on and a number of races later I was becoming tired of training on my own, so I joined WRC and discovered the social side of training and racing. Although I'm not going to win any races, I am surprised at my improvement and have recently become interested in Cross Country running. When I am not working or running I like to go to the cinema or go travelling.

I joined WRC in 2005 after deciding I needed to improve my running in order to compete in triathlons. Joining WRC has certainly had the desired effect and I continue to compete in Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons (even winning a couple of trophies!) as well as cross country and road races up to 10km. I am a regular member of the Saturday peloton, although this may have more to do with the tea and cake at Heybridge, than the actual cycling!! When I am not exercising, I enjoy eating cake and gardening.

I can't really remember when I started jogging (must look at my old Boxing Day 5 T shirts) but I do remember that one of the main reasons for joining WRC was to run and train with other runners! I'm not the fastest out there but I manage to 'race' most distances from 5K to half marathon. I avoid cross country races as they're not really my thing unless four legs and a horse are involved and it's been ages since I tried that. I qualified as a Level 2 coach last year and as an analyst I'm prone to ask lots of why, how, and what questions!

I started running in 2002, completed my 1st marathon in 2003 and also my 2nd. I joined WRC in 2004. To mark my half century in 2009 I will be taking part in 'Marathon des Sable'. I'm not fast or young but you don't need to be either to take part, just a pair of legs and the will to do so!

I took up running in 1989 and have been a member at Witham since 2004. I have run the London marathon five times, but really enjoy running off road, cross country and trails. The most important point for me being to enjoy my running.

I have been running with Witham Running Club since 2006, enjoying the challenge. Last year I did some triathlons and also enjoyed my first half marathon.

After beginning a "get fit" campaign a year or so ago (an annual thing admittedly!) I joined Witham Running Club in the beginners group with the aim of competing a 5K Race for Life. Having since completed 10K, 10 mile and half marathons, I am now in training for my first London Marathon. I run 20-30 miles a week, and go to the gym. I also like to socialise with friends, read autobiographies and shop!

I used to be a runner and joined Witham Running Club in 1991. I did the ADT London Marathon twice. I've been looking after the web site for about 10 years. One of these days I'll start running again.
