Everyone has to start somewhere, and we, at Witham Running Club, welcome and support all those who want to take up running.
We do this in a number of ways.
-At Club Nights, we plan our training programmes, to accommodate all standards. This includes running back, different pace groups, a short route for beginners and runners returning after a break, and ensuring experienced runners accompany and support those who wish to run slower.
-We encourage all standards of runners at races. Everyone's a winner!
-We offer full support and security to our Lady Runners, to ensure that they will always feel safe when they are out.
-On Monday evenings throughout the summer, we enjoy runs from country pubs around the area, to give variety, country air, great scenery, and of course a drink and a natter afterwards.
-You always run faster and train better when you run with others. It all helps you to improve your fitness and enjoyment.
-We have experienced runners to advise on training and to help you achieve what you want to get out of running.
-Our Championships and awards systems are geared to all levels, with improvement and effort playing a big part.
-Many people take up running to run The London Marathon - We have helped many new runners achieve this goal from a standing start.
-Membership Fees are very reasonable and give you discounted entries to all races that you enter including the London Marathon.
-Most people want to try out a club before they join, but are worried that they'll have to pay up before they can decide whether they really want to become a member. We wont pressure you to join before you are sure you want to.
-We have fun!
Running can play a big part in improving the quality of our lives. It gives us mental and physical fitness and stamina, and it can help revitalise us when work or other pressures are out of balance.
A number of people will take up running and think about joining a club "when they are good enough". If you want to run, you are good enough now.
If you are thinking of taking up running contact our
club chairman.
So what are you waiting for? Come and give us a try for a few weeks, and if you like us you are most welcome to join. (See the home page for details of when and where we meet.)
YOU CAN DO IT!
