ATTENTION all Witham London Marathon runners!
Posted by: Lorraine on Thursday, April 03, 2008 - 01:14 PM
News

The East Anglian Daily Times is doing an article on all the runners in the region who are competing in the Flora London Marathon next week.

The type of info they're interested in is who you are, your age (!!), home town, marathon PB and number of marathons completed. If you're running for a charity I'd include this as well, plus anything else that could attract attention - you're running in fancy dress, you've only eaten jelly babies for training, you plan to sing all the way round, you've overcome injury or been stapled back together (sorry Julie!).

If you send me brief details (use the link on the Contacts page), I'll collate everything and send it off.

So here's your chance for fame and glory - go for it!

Lorraine

NEW TRIATHLON LINK-PLEASE HAVE A LOOK !!
Posted by: byfordm on Tuesday, April 01, 2008 - 07:29 PM
News

I am very pleased to announce that our new Triathlon link can be found on the Main Menu.

Thanks to Jobbers, Mat and Wendy for their work in putting together a fantastic link accompanied by some action shots of some of the 26 members that took part last year.

With the tri season soon to start I would encourage anyone who is thinking of having a go to have a go!! You don't need to be good at any of the disciplines but the camaraderie and support within our Club is brilliant.

A couple of new members have recently approached me on Club Night and asked about the alternative cross training events that we do and to them and anybody else I would say please see Dave or Wendy. All the relevant information can be found on the link.

MASSAGE UPDATE
Posted by: byfordm on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 - 09:17 PM
News

Thanks to Kathy and Nicky who came along on Monday evening to dispense massages which went down very well. Such was demand (or was it people hogging the couches!) that the Ladies ran out of time!

The good news is that if you were disappointed and missed out you can contact them at touchtm@tiscali.co.uk or you can book a 15 minute free slot on Monday 31st March by booking in on the Chatroom.

Edited 20 Mar 18:15 to correct email address.

They will then be at the club to give both pre and post London Marathon massages on the Monday before and after at a very reasonable £5 per 15 minutes. Again if you are interested in booking a slot please use the Chat room.

MASSAGE ON MONDAY?
Posted by: byfordm on Friday, March 14, 2008 - 11:37 PM
News

On Monday Night we have two newly qualified masseurs, Nikki and Kathy coming along to the Club to give members a complimentary massage for up to 20 minutes.

Both ladies are runners, Nikki running the London Marathon next month. It is an opportunity for them to advertise their business and at the same time allow members who have not had a massage before to enjoy the experience and benefits which it brings.

The ladies will arrive at 7.30 with couches and for the growing number of injured athletes, myself included, will be able to relax whilst the rest of you run!

SUBS - EA LICENCE
Posted by: byfordm on Friday, March 07, 2008 - 07:34 PM
News

For those of you who wish to enter road races from 1st April 2008 and claim 'affiliated' status you will have to obtain an England Athletics (EA) Licence which costs £5 otherwise when you enter races you will be required to pay the unattached levy which will be a minimum of £2 per race.

Mat has incorporated a space on the new Membership Appllication Form if you wish to apply making the cost of individual membership £25 with a similar increase for family or concession. Mat has kindly agreed to apply for the Licences to EA which you will receive in the post.

For those who already have a Licence for 2007/8 which cost £3 this will expire on 31/03/2008.

Hope that clarifies things.

Martyn
