Boxing Day 5
| Thank you to everyone who helped out yesterday o要 our 24th Boxing Day 5 race. Apart from o要e or two minor incidents, everything seems to have gone very well, with 408 finishers.
Every o要e of you were important in making the event possible, but a special mention must go to the finish line crew who, at times, operated under quite difficult conditions, those managing the car parking so well and to those o要 the entry and results and to getting the results out so quickly! Finally to those who ran and were able to provide family or friends to help, please extend my thanks to them.
Remember, everyone who helped out gets a "goody" bag. These are currently with Alan Cutler, please use the link o要 the home page or see him down at club.

| Thank you to every o要e who has already offered to help out at this year's Boxing Day 5 race, however, as always a few extra bods would be be very welcome to ensure the runners' safety and the success of the event. If you do intend to enter we would be very appreciative if you could provide a father/ mother/ sister/ brother/ boyfriend/ girlfriend/ lover to help us out!
Please let me or Theresa know asap either at the club or by e-mail or through any committee member.

| Dear Members
An email has been sent to all members asking for volunteers for Boxing Day 5, unfortunately some of the addresses were incorrect or missing. If you haven't received this email and are available to help please email the 'Fixtures' link (see the "Contacts" section on the home page). The race starts at 11am but we'll need some people from 8.30.

| We have 1 pair of ASICS shoes (with sweaty socks included!), a lovely New Balance top and a long sleeve Ladies top which were left behind in the hall after our run!

| A big thank you very much from myself,James, Alan and Frank namely the BD5 Committee for the fantastic support that we received today. I make it that we had over 50 members contributing on the day itself.Without you we would have no Race.
Chris is collating the official results as this goes to press although we have already made all the awards to the main prize winners.We will have the results available asap elsewhere on our website.
Congratulations to the race winner, Crispian Bloomfield of Billericay Striders who ran a course record of 24.41 and to Harriott Scott of Havering who took the ladies award in 28.42 having previously been a Junior winner.

Boxing Day 5 Entries (Updated)

Boxing Day 5
| Due to popular demand (well Pete Gold asked me) I will be attending the club's training sessions with some race numbers on Thursday 14 December at Bramston and on Monday 18 December at the Jack & Jenny.
If you want to enter the race please bring a cheque (money accepted but I'd prefer a cheque). I'll bring some entry forms but if you want to be prepared you can always print an entry form by following the link on the home page.
See you all on Thursday or Monday.
(10:25 13 Dec) One final thing: Martyn is still looking for marshalls and other helpers for the race. This race is our way of putting something back and repaying the clubs that organise races that we visit. If you and/or family and friends can help please contact Martyn.
And a final, final thing: Normally there's a group that runs the Boxing Day 5 race route on the day after Boxing Day for all those who didn't participate - so nobody needs to 'miss out'.

| Whilst I fully appreciate that Christmas brings family commitments I still require a few more marhalls please to assist on the day.
I will not be at the Club Monday 11th so if you are willing to give up a couple of hours (and that is all) please e mail me on the link on our homepage.

BOXING DAY 5 - YOUR HELP NEEDED PLEASE

Boxing Day 5
| Our 'BIG' day when we are visited by Clubs from around the County and beyond and we are very much under the spotlight.
Therefore we need your help to Marshal whether it's to direct on the course, at late entries, organise the carpark, help at the finish.
We would prefer to have more helpers than runners as the success of the race is dependant on its smooth running. It is the members' opportunity to give something back to the Club although we do appreciate that Christmas time is a family occasion.
James, Alan and myself will be collecting names from tomorrow of those willing to help. On the day Course Marshalls will need to be at the Football Club by 9am and will be finished by 12. Everyone will get a course map with their position on it prior to the day together with final instructions.
